Our Veterinarians

As a member of the veterinary medical profession, I solemnly swear that I will use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society.

Dr. Ed Gowan was born locally and attended Hagersville Secondary School. Dr. Ed graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in 1978, he earned a Masters Degree in Reproductive Physiology in 1980 and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1983. Having volunteered at Hagersville Veterinary Services for many years he bought the then mixed animal practice in 1985. In 1997 he changed his career focus to the practice of small animal medicine and surgery exclusively. If your pet ever needs after hours emergency care Dr. Ed will nearly always be there for you.

Dr. Jodi Thompson was born in Temiscaming, Quebec. She graduated from the University Of Guelph with a Honors Biology Degree in 2001 and continued on to earn her Veterinarian status at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005. After graduating Dr. Thompson worked at the Burgess Emergency Clinic in Burlington for 2 years. She came to the Hagersville Vet Services as a part time Veterinarian in February of 2008 and has been a much welcomed edition to both clinic staff and clients alike.
